| The Will of Chesley Davis Sr. (Transcription as close to original as possible, mistakes, punctiuation and all) In the Name of God Amen; I Chesley Davis of the States of Southcarolina Abbeville District being of sound and disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, and being desireous to dispose of all such worldy estate, as it hath pleased God to bless me with do make and ordain this, my last will; and in manner following that is to say First of all: I will that all my just debts be paid out of my Estate, after payment of just debts: I give to my son Samuel one hundred acres of land whereon he now lives and I made him a title; I give to my son Danniel one hundred and twenty acres of land lying on the west side of my tract the branch to be the line, and to extend around towards M Fosters; I give to my son Little Berry one hundred acres of land lying on the south side of my tract and the line to extend to near the head of M Thomas Spragins spring branch over to the spring I now use Westward so that he shall have water; All the rest of my land I give, to my two sons, Gabriel and Jesse, to be equally devided between them so that their priviledges shall be equal in all cases; Gabriel to have the house I moved out of and Jesse to have the house I now live in.; As touching my touching my personal estate I will first of all that my young children be advanced equal to my eldest: that is to say one hundred dollars to both sons and daughters: And then my daughters that is to say Nancy Hepzibah and Bulah to have one hundred dollars more out of my personal estate than my sons; I will also that my daughters Nancy Hepzibah and Bulah have that (damage) part of my personal estate that would have belong to my darl- (crease damage for two lines - dang) and Jesse have fifty dollars left out of my personal estate (damage) rest of my (damage) daughter (damage) having the buildings; I will and bequeath to Francis Harris three dollars; I will and bequeath to William Gaines three dollars; I will all the rest of my estate to be equally devided between all my sons and daughters Samuel; Daniel; Little Bery; Gabrial; Jesse; Nancy Hepzibah and Bulah; I will that my estate go not into the ordinar nothing further than to prove and record this my will; I will that my executers be guardia for my children or child that be underage till they (damage) And lastly do constitute and appoint my (damage) Daniel and Gabriel; my executers of this my last will and testiment hereby revoking all other and former wills and testiments by me heretofore; in testimony where of I have affixed my seal.
